You're gonna leave right now?? Part 2
Hola everyone!
Okay so this week was full of lots of lows but the highest of highs. We saw SO many miracles this week and my heart is just so full.
THE GOOD STUFF:
Okay so last week I talked a lot about Xiomara, we are teaching her and her daughters and when we first met her she made sure that we knew that she was Catholic. But after teaching the restoration last week she said she might be able to come to church. Me and my comp were sitting in church and the sacrament hymn had just started. I look up at the doors and I see Xiomara and her two daughters walk in the chapel. I have never been so happy! They came and sat down next to us. During the meeting she was wiping tears from her eyes and afterward she told us how much she and her daughters loved it. It is amazing to see how fast her heart opened up and how willing she is to act on the feelings that she had. We went back and taught them again that day and they said they want to come to a session of General Conference!
We also had another littler miracle at church on Sunday. We have been teaching this girl named Noelia. She's 21 and she is amazing. We extended a baptismal date with her this week and she accepted! We went up to talk to her and her boyfriend Nicolas (who we have taught a few times with her and has been to church as well), after the meeting Nicolas looked at me and said that he wanted to be baptized too. I was a little thrown off at first but I got so happy and told him that is definitely something we can work towards!! They really love each other and want to be together. Soooo we are going to teach them about temples and temple marriage next week and wow I am just so excited :)
THE FUN STUFF:
So me and my comp were both really sick this week so (under the Presidents orders) we ended up staying in the house on Tuesday. Let me tell ya, staying in the house as a missionary is not fun. It did help a lot and we are feeling great now. But, we were in an appointment and it started POURING. Rain is how we got sick in the first place so we were a little worried. We had to go to the church so we decided we were just gonna run (It's a 15 minute walk). When we said we were going to leave, our cute investigator was like "You're going to leave right now??” And like always we said yes! Haha. She searched her house for an umbrella but the only thing she could find were plastic bags. A classic Dominican thing to do is to wear plastic bags on your head when it rains because they say that it prevents gripe. Sooooo that's what we did! We looked a little funny, us two Americans with bags on our heads running through the pouring rain but it was quite the adventure :) And we didn't get sick! I guess it really worked.
Don't forget to love like He does and NEVER give up!
Con amor,
