5 more Monkeys Jumpin on My Head
Hola everyone!
This week was crazy and full of miracles! I also hit 6 months so that is just crazy sauce. Time is flying by and I just can't keep up!
THE GOOD STUFF:
So. Gary. We went back to his house after the tithing lesson and he said that he feels so good and he just can't wait for Saturday to come! I have never met anyone so prepared and ready for the gospel. He said that he knows how much his life is going to change but how he is willing to give up everything because the changes he is going to make are worth far more than anything else.
We also have a new friend we are teaching named Carlos. He is 21 and speaks English! He is so interested in the gospel and really was looking for the truth when we found him. We gave him a Book of Mormon this week and he told us that he was going to read the whole thing as fast as he could cause he just wants to know if its true for himself.
I am realizing the importance of putting the gospel first in our lives. The world is FULL of things that can distract us from what is really important. But when we focus ourselves on Christ and his light, that is when and where we can find true and lasting happiness. It's only in and through him.
THE FUN STUFF:
Thanksgiving this week! An Elder in my district decided to bake a 15 pound turkey for us so we had a little Thanksgiving feast as a district at the church. We had stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy as well. Felt like a little bit of home away from home :)
MONKEY JUNGLE!! Okay so this sweet member in our ward who is from Orem took us to a place called monkey jungle this p-day. It's a nonprofit place that provides free medical and dental care from the money they make from the monkey experience. The monkeys are all rescued and living a great life too!
Basically you enter into this little jungle cave and immediately all the little squirrel monkeys come and JUMP ON YOU. They give you food to give them and they just jump all over you. I had monkeys on my head and my arms. Wow what a day, I will never forget it!!
Con amor,
