Christmas Eve dinner

Hello Everyone!

Christmas this week! It was great! We didn't have power in our house the whole week so that was a little bit of a bummer, but we brought our mattresses out and slept by our little tree and made the best of it :) We also didn't have snow but it rained a lot so I think that's a close second.

THE GOOD STUFF:
So Christmas was this week! We didn't really have much to do, (nobody really wants you to come to their house on Christmas here). So we decided to go Christmas caroling to some of the members houses with the Elders in our ward! We were at a member of the bishoprics house and he told us that he wanted us to go over to his neighbors house with him to sing. He explained that they aren't members of our church. We decided to sing "Noche de Luz" (Silent night). A woman answered the door and we started to sing. Once we got to the last verse she had tears rolling down her cheeks. She explained that she is having a lot of trouble with her mom who is very sick and she said that God sent us to her to give her a moment of peace. It was such a sweet experience and really touched my heart. We can share the gospel in SO many different ways and we never know how what we do is going to touch someone's life. God is so good!

THE FUN STUFF:
So we are in a ward with another set of Elders and we all got invited to go to two Christmas Eve dinners. Originally I was going to say no to the second invite because it was almost at the same time as the other one. But then the sweet sister switched the times for us and the Elders decided that we could do both. We got to the first dinner and we ate a full plate but tried not to eat too much because we knew we had a second dinner. But here in the DR all they do on Christmas Eve is eat. So the Elders ate a little more and then we got to our second dinner. They gave us SO much food and we were all just dying. We wanted to be nice so we ate everything they gave us, but long story short I never wanted to eat again and Elder Kirschman almost threw up on me. We all had a good laugh and it was a Christmas Eve to remember!

Remember to never give up and to love like He does!
