Happy New Year explosion


Hello Everyone! 

Okay disclaimer, no pictures this week. I forgot my adapter at the internet center but I will send some next week! 

THE GOOD STUFF:
Olvis was baptized this week! It was such a sweet experience. He is 26 and his parents are recent converts. I looked over at them right after Olvis was baptized and his Dad had the BIGGEST smile on his face! He looked at me and gave me the biggest thumbs up! It is such a sweet feeling to know that this family is going to be blessed and are going to have the opportunity to be together FOREVER! What a blessing this gospel is.

THE FUN STUFF:
New years this week! We had to be in the house by 6 but we heard all of our Dominican friends celebrating all night! We made some brownies (which we burned), watched some testament videos and stayed up to see the new year come! We woke up at 6:30 the next morning and the music/parties outside were still going!! Gotta love those Dominicans.

We were also with the other Elders in our ward at the store on New Years Eve buying some snacks. I was trying to help the Elders find apple cider (without alcohol) and I knocked a bottle over and it EXPLODED all over the store.... But the people were really nice so I walked out of there with only a little bit (a lot) of embarrassment and champaign covered feet.

Hello everyone! This week was great! I picked up my new little greenie on Wednesday and she is the cutest! Her name is Hermana Kirkham and she's from South Jordan, Utah! Hola everyone!  This week was awesome! We had zone conference with two members of the 70 who were doing a mission tour this week! Elder Alverado is actually speaking in conference in October and he is AWESOME so I encourage you all to pay special attention to him.  Zone Conference THE GOOD STUFF: So this week we had zone conference and boy was it amazing. We had two members of the 70 there and spoke to us. Elder Alverado talked about the gathering of Israel and how it is the most important work on the earth. We really are in a time where we are preparing for Christ to come. It's a cool experience to be completely immersed and dedicated to this gathering and this work. A scripture that we have been using a lot this week is in 2 Nephi 26:33. Hola everyone!  This week was crazy and full of miracles! I also hit 6 months so that is just crazy sauce. Time is flying by and I just can't keep up!  THE GOOD STUFF: So. Gary. We went back to his house after the tithing lesson and he said that he feels so good and he just can't wait for Saturday to come! I have never met anyone so prepared and ready for the gospel. He said that he knows how much his life is going to change but how he is willing to give up everything because the changes he is going to make are worth far more than anything else.  We also have a new friend we are teaching named Carlos. He is 21 and speaks English! He is so interested in the gospel and really was looking for the truth when we found him. We gave him a Book of Mormon this week and he told us that he was going to read the whole thing as fast as he could cause he just wants to know if its true for himself.  I am realizing the importance of putting the gospel first ...
