Hello Everyone!  THE GOOD STUFF: So this week we have been focusing a lot of our teaching on Jesus Christ and his atonement and how that is the "Why" behind why we do everything we do. It's why we go to church, why we keep the commandments, why we serve other people, why we choose to be the way we are. We cannot comprehend the pain that the Savior felt when he atoned for our sins. He suffered a moment for everyone and He knows exactly how we feel and exactly what we are going through. He doesn't just understand, He knows perfectly. He sacrificed so much for us, and all he is asking is for us to come and follow Him.  I want to encourage you all to remember the why behind why we do what we do and to remember that we are never alone! Hello everyone!  This week was a hard week but also a week full of miracles! The Lord really does work in mysterious ways.  THE GOOD STUFF: So we are teaching a woman named Ana right now. We went last week and taught her about the word of wisdom. She agreed with almost everything we taught, but she wasn't too happy about the fact that we don't drink coffee. She said that she LOVES coffee and that she's been drinking it every day since she was a little girl. We talked about how we can work with her and help her to overcome it. She said that she would try "poco a poco" or "little by little" but she didn't seem too happy.   We were bummed but she said she would try so we decided to make her a "Coffee Calendar." We had a box for everyday and how many cups she could drink and we planned it out so she could leave it gradually and all that jazz and we felt pretty good about it. Hello Everyone!   Okay disclaimer, no pictures this week. I forgot my adapter at the internet center but I will send some next week!   THE GOOD STUFF: Olvis was baptized this week! It was such a sweet experience. He is 26 and his parents are recent converts. I looked over at them right after Olvis was baptized and his Dad had the BIGGEST smile on his face! He looked at me and gave me the biggest thumbs up! It is such a sweet feeling to know that this family is going to be blessed and are going to have the opportunity to be together FOREVER! What a blessing this gospel is. THE FUN STUFF: New years this week! We had to be in the house by 6 but we heard all of our Dominican friends celebrating all night! We made some brownies (which we burned), watched some testament videos and stayed up to see the new year come! We woke up at 6:30 the next morning and the music/parties outside were still going!! Hello Everyone!  Christmas this week! It was great! We didn't have power in our house the whole week so that was a little bit of a bummer, but we brought our mattresses out and slept by our little tree and made the best of it :) We also didn't have snow but it rained a lot so I think that's a close second. THE GOOD STUFF: So Christmas was this week! We didn't really have much to do, (nobody really wants you to come to their house on Christmas here). So we decided to go Christmas caroling to some of the members houses with the Elders in our ward! We were at a member of the bishoprics house and he told us that he wanted us to go over to his neighbors house with him to sing. He explained that they aren't members of our church. We decided to sing "Noche de Luz" (Silent night). A woman answered the door and we started to sing. Once we got to the last verse she had tears rolling down her cheeks. Hello everyone! This week was great! I picked up my new little greenie on Wednesday and she is the cutest! Her name is Hermana Kirkham and she's from South Jordan, Utah! She's super spunky and we are having a great time :) This weeks email is going to be a little bit different. I wanted to take this opportunity (because Christmas is this week) to share my Testimony of the Savior. I KNOW that He lives and that He loves us more than we could ever imagine. He doesn't only love us but He knows us personally. Whenever we feel lost or like we just can't go on, He is there to strengthen us and to not only walk beside us, but to carry us. He is in every detail of our lives. All we have to do is look for Him. I KNOW that He atoned for our sins and He sacrificed so that one day we can live again and that death is not the end.   We are not alone. Hello everyone!  This week was kinda crazy! We had our Christmas zone conference which was amazing! We got to watch the new Lion King movie which was such a cute little Christmas present :) We also have transfers this week and President called me and I will be training a new missionary! I am a little bit nervous cause I still feel like a brand new missionary, but I am excited for the new adventures to come! THE GOOD STUFF: So this week in Sunday school we had an amazing lesson about the words "love" and "light" and what they mean. We were talking about the word love, and how it relates to our Heavenly father. The Hermano teaching (who is actually from orem) said something very special that I want to share. He was talking about the name Father and how many more ways you can say it (dad, papa, daddy etc).
